Geek to Freak and Occams Protocol in 2012

Posted by Geek To Freak Guy on Jan 8, 2012 in Geek To Freak, Occams Protocol | Comments Off
A reader asked the following:- “Paul, what happened after June? Your last report was that almost all the hard-fought fat came back. What then? Any further research into what went wrong? I want to develop a parsimonious fitness program for myself in 2012, so 4HB seemed to be a good starting point. But I can’t seem to find examples of where the various 4HB protocols have failed to work for others as they did for Tim, which makes developing a “most-likely to succeed” program quite difficult. The Internet-wide impression is that these protocols work for everybody...

Tim Ferriss interviewed by Michael Port about Geek To Freak and the 4HB

Tim Ferriss interviewed by Michael Port about Geek To Freak and the 4HB
I found this interview with Tim Ferriss where he talks about The Four Hour Body and turning from Geek To Freak. On a side note, Tim talks about the affilate links for the supplements recommended in the book, the proceeds of which go to charity. Tim also used to own a supplement store, which he sold in order to prevent critics slagging off his data and results as a ploy for supplement sales. The Geek To Freak interview is in two parts. Geek To Freak Part One Geek To Freak Part Two Tim discusses the criticism of The Four Hour Body and how it was received by the Gym Community, especially...

What is The Four Hour Body Geek To Freak?

What is The Four Hour Body Geek To Freak?
The Four Hour Body is a book written by Tim Ferriss, of The Four Hour Work week fame. Tim is an expert in condensing down the things that actually make a difference to work, play or in this case getting a better body. Based on the Pareto 80/20 rule, Tim’s quest was to find the 20% of things that make 80% of the difference in losing weight and building a better posterior. Tim condensed the Pareto rule down even further to find the 2.5% of things which constitute the Minimum Effective Dose. It turns out that all of this can be accomplished in just 4 hours a month. Tim’s methods...

Tips For Getting Geek To Freak Abs

Tips For Getting Geek To Freak Abs
I have been developing my six pack by doing the Myotatic Crunch exercise on a Bosu ball for several weeks now. I can definitely feel my abs getting stronger. It also takes a couple of days to recover. But what else can you do to ensure you get that elusive six pack (or two pack or four pack)? I found these tips from BigRob on 4HBtalk. 1. Abs are not going to show for many people until they are 7-9% body fat. 2. There are two major categories of abs “Deep Carves”, that look like a pan of dinner rolls and “Tiles” that look like, well kitchen tiles. You can get Deep Carves by doing...

Four Hour Body, Geek To Freak and Occams Protocol
Being a bit of an IT/Marketing Geek, last year I began following Tim Ferris’s guides to hacking your life and becoming generally more efficient (The Four Hour Workweek). This year I am going from Geek to Freak with Tim’s help. You have probably heard of Tim Ferriss. His book the Four Hour Work Week has been on the number 1 New York Times best seller list and this year his second book The Four Hour Body also made it to the number one spot on Amazon. The Four Hour Body is the book that I am interested in right now. Tim’s new bible is about losing weight, gaining muscle or...
